From the Europeana Pro blog.

The Europeana ecosystem builds on a network of national, thematic and domain aggregators enabling cultural heritage institutions to share their content on Europeana Collections and open it up to new audiences. These Aggregators, one of which is Photoconsortium as the specialized hub in the domain of photographic content, liaise with cultural institutions, private archives, amateurs and collectors with the role of facilitating their access to Europeana for sharing authentic, trustworthy and compelling digital cultural heritage.

Since 2012, those organizations who actively work as aggregators for Europeana meet twice a year at the Aggregators’ Forum: a general meeting to generate and exchange ideas, knowledge, experiences and best practices which fosters closer working relationships and two-way communication between all its members. To support a democratic structure and goverance of the Aggregators Forum, last April the establishment of a Steering Group took place with Marco Rendina (Europeana Fashion International Association) and Sara Di Giorgio (ICCU representing CulturaItalia) elected as representatives by the Aggregators group, and Henning Scholz representing the Europeana Foundation.

The main task of the new Steering Group is to revitalise the Europeana Aggregators’ Forum and help to explore opportunities to increase the synergies between aggregators. More news to come soon!
