Brisbane-based fine art photographer and artist Jane Long paid hommage to Romanian photographer Costică Acsinte in her Dancing with Costică series. Starting from Costică’s original photographs, taken throughout the 1930s and ’40s and in the Public Domain since 1991, Jane imagined and created surreal artworks where the people depicted and captured in the photographs enter in a different and magical new world.

It is a stunning example of creativity flourished from vintage photographs, which always have the power to inspire people’s imagination.
