Held under the patronage of the UNESCO Commission of the Russian Federation, the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest aims to highlight outstanding photojournalism and support participants in their striving for top professionalism: the contest offers photo journalists an opportunity to make their concerns known, and is open to anyone who may be interested in participating.
For this year’s edition, entries will be accepted until February 28, and can be submitted at stenincontest.com.
The main themes of the contest include global humanitarian challenges, national identity, social equality and the environment. This year, the contest introduced a new category titled “The Energy of Life” for photographers aged over 34 years old, while the remaining 5 remain dedicated to emerging photographers and young photojournalists aged 18-33.
