From the curatorial effort of the EU project 1950s in Europe Kaleidoscope, every week on Friday there’s a new set of carefully selected photographs to be explored on the project’s website.

Today we present “Albin Lövqvist, master portraitist”.

A large legacy of +20.000 portraits made by Swedish photographer Albin Lövqvist in his studio in Bomhus, is preserved in Länsmuseet Gävleborg. We collected the fifties series for you in this digital showcase. Eager to discover more? Visit Europeana.eu, where over 2.000 of his photographs are available for free re-use!
