Fifties Friday: Memories from Bulgaria

From the curatorial effort of the EU project 1950s in Europe Kaleidoscope, every week on Friday there’s a new set of carefully selected photographs to be explored on the project’s website.

Today we present “Memories from Bulgaria”.

Through this attractive mix of snapshots, studio portraits, city-, land- and seascapes, we catch a glimpse of everyday life in Bulgaria during the 1950s. The Public Library of Varna collected these photographs and made them available to Europeana.eu under an open license – so get inspired and create your own photo stories with these mid-century gems!
