The Spanish State Archives hold the memory of Spain and of the presence and relationships of Spaniards throughout the world, and their aim is to create value for all those who give them meaning: researchers, citizens interested in specific information or who are drawn by curiosity about the past, and for companies and institutions that need to identify or verify data or documents. The Historical Memory Documentary Centre, one of their several archives, is located in Salamanca and houses a rich and diverse collection of documents covering Spanish hisory from the Second Republic onwards.
