Fondazione Alinari per la Fotografia announces the opening of a new photographic exhibition “Sognando i corsari. Livorno e il suo mare negli Archivi Alinari” at the Museo della Città from 30 June to 8 October 2023.

The connection between Livorno and the Tyrrhenian Sea at the turn of the 19th and 20th century is documented by hundreds of photographs owned by Alinari Archive: photos of bathing establishments and bathers, sea storms, various ships, sea-related professions and more, in the shots of photographers from Livorno, will flow through the splendid exhibition.

Illustrious names such as Bettini, Miniati, Roster, and more, create a path in the exhibitions that will both surprise new visitors and won’t leave the aficionados indifferent.

The exhibition, promoted and organised by the Municipality of Livorno, is curated by Fondazione Alinari per la Fotografia, with the patronage of the Region of Tuscany. Learn more at this link.

The exhibition will be previewed to the press on Thursday 29 June at 12 noon at the Museo della Città, Piazza del Luogo Pio.
